The next ODSP and Ontario Works payment dates are Friday, October 30, 2026, and Monday, November 30, 2026, and ontario.ca lists the same dates for both programs. That makes the ODSP pay schedule and the Ontario Works payment schedule a single calendar through November. December’s date has not been published yet.
People with a disability can get income support through the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), and Ontario Works helps people who cannot cover food and housing. Someone who applies to ODSP while short of money can receive Ontario Works, if eligible, while the ODSP application is assessed.
ODSP Pay Schedule and Ontario Works Payment Dates for 2026
ODSP pays on the last business day of each month, and December payments may be available earlier. Ontario Works pays on the last business day of the previous month, so the money is in place for the start of each month.
That difference is why the two tables on ontario.ca look a month apart. The Ontario Works table lists each payment under the month it covers, and the ODSP table lists it under what ontario.ca calls the benefit month. The payment dates match.
| Payment date | ODSP month | Ontario Works month |
|---|---|---|
| January 30, 2026 | January | February |
| February 27, 2026 | February | March |
| March 31, 2026 | March | April |
| April 30, 2026 | April | May |
| May 29, 2026 | May | June |
| June 30, 2026 | June | July |
| July 31, 2026 | July | August |
| August 31, 2026 | August | September |
| September 29, 2026 | September | October |
| October 30, 2026 | October | November |
| November 30, 2026 | November | December |
| December 2026 | TBC | Not listed |
The City of Toronto lists the same dates for 2026 in its Ontario Works schedule, and says payments normally go straight to your bank account.
How Much ODSP and Ontario Works Pay
Both programs pay two parts: basic needs, and a shelter allowance that follows your actual housing costs up to a ceiling set by family size. The tables show the ceilings, so a lower rent means a lower payment, and other income can change it too.
ODSP, from July 1, 2026:
| Household | Basic needs | Shelter | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single adult | $825 | up to $611 | up to $1,436 |
| Single parent, one child under 18 | $968 | up to $959 | up to $1,927 |
| Couple, one partner has a disability | $1,189 | up to $959 | up to $2,148 |
The single-parent row includes ODSP’s $143 supplement for single parents whose children are all under 18. From July 1, 2026, a couple where both partners have a disability is held to a combined maximum of $2,416 a month.
Ontario Works, using the figures in its policy directives (updated April 14, 2026):
| Household | Basic needs | Shelter | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single adult | $343 | up to $390 | up to $733 |
| Single parent, one child under 18 | $360 | up to $642 | up to $1,002 |
| Couple, no children | $494 | up to $642 | up to $1,136 |
These cover basic needs and shelter only. People may receive more for benefits such as transportation to medical appointments, and for other family members.
Borrowing on ODSP has a rule of its own. ODSP treats a loan as income and deducts it from your payment unless the loan is authorized and used for an approved purpose. That makes ODSP loans worth raising with your caseworker before you sign. Some lenders do count ODSP as income for a loan without employment verification.
The July 2026 ODSP Increase
ODSP income support rose 1.9% on July 1, 2026, and a single person can now receive up to $1,436 a month for basic needs and shelter. The increase covered the maximums for individuals and families, board and lodge amounts, and the couple amount when both partners have disabilities. ODSP is tied to inflation and adjusted every July. This was its fifth increase since September 2022.
The increase applied to ODSP. For Ontario Works, a single person can receive up to $733 a month.
The $200 a Month Disability Benefit Is Federal
The $200 figure comes from the Canada Disability Benefit, a federal payment for people with disabilities aged 18 to 64. The maximum was $200 a month for July 2025 to June 2026 and is $204.20 a month for July 2026 to June 2027, and the amount falls as family income rises.
Ontario exempts it as income: the benefit does not affect eligibility for ODSP or Ontario Works, or the amount of either payment.
If a Payment Does Not Arrive
Work through these in order:
- Check the payment details first. MyBenefits, ontario.ca’s online service for ODSP and Ontario Works cases, shows case information. The automated line at 1-800-808-2268 reports your most recent payment any day, at any hour: press 1, then 1 again. You need the member identification number printed on your ODSP or Ontario Works letters, plus a PIN that your local office can set up.
- Contact your caseworker if the payment is still missing, or if a letter says it will be delayed or stopped. On the phone line, press 0 to reach your local office, or find the office on ontario.ca’s social assistance office locator.
- If you receive Ontario Works by cheque, ask about direct bank deposit, which is the preferred way to be paid under the program’s rules.
December’s Dates Are Not Published Yet
Last December shows why to wait for the real date. ODSP’s December 2025 payment was issued on December 22, 2025, and ontario.ca lists the Ontario Works payment for January 2026 as December 31, 2025. Toronto’s cheque schedule shows December 22, 2025 for that same payment. No 2027 dates are published yet.
Until ontario.ca fills in December 2026, November 30 is the last confirmed payment date for both programs. A bill timed to a December payment rests on a date that is not published yet, so confirm it first: the ODSP row marked TBC is the one to recheck in November.
The Canada Revenue Agency runs its own calendar, with the Canada Child Benefit scheduled for October 20, November 20 and December 11, 2026. Lining those dates up with the month-end payment is the core of any low-income budget.
Frequently Asked Questions
The last business day of the month. The remaining 2026 dates are Friday, October 30, and Monday, November 30, and December 2026 is marked TBC. December payments can come early: ODSP issued its December 2025 payment on December 22, 2025.
Ontario Works uses the same days: October 30 and November 30, 2026. Each payment goes out on the last business day before the month it covers, so the October 30 payment is the November one. No December 2026 date is listed yet.
Yes, and the increase is already in effect. ODSP rose 1.9% on July 1, 2026, taking the most a single person can receive for basic needs and shelter to $1,436 a month. Because the program is tied to inflation, it is adjusted each July.
Not so far. The 1.9% increase on July 1, 2026 applied to ODSP. For Ontario Works, a single person can receive up to $733 a month, and the amount depends on family size and housing costs. Check ontario.ca for any change announced later in the year.
As of October 2026, Ontario has not posted a 2027 amount. Its ODSP pages say rates are tied to inflation and adjusted annually in July, so the next change is due in July 2027, and its size will follow inflation. Until the new rates appear, plan around the amounts in effect since July 1, 2026.
